The holiday season is officially upon us! For some, this is the most wonderful time of the year. But for others, the holidays can be a time of stress and sadness. Help spread some holiday cheer by helping out these mid-Michigan organizations…
Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness
Everyone wants to be in a warm home for the holidays. The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness provides housing and shelter, services, training, and so on to the homeless community in Michigan. They work to prevent and eventually end homelessness. With your help, they can get closer to their goal of finding more homes for people in need. To donate, follow the link below.
Association for Children’s Mental Health
If your parents are like mine, they say that the only thing they want for Christmas is for their family to be healthy. Mental health is just as important as physical health. The Association for Children’s Mental Health provides information, support, resources, and advocacy for children and families that suffer with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. Help a child and their family get healthy by clicking the following link.
Capital Area Humane Society
Animals need help too! No animal should be left on the streets, especially during the cold winter months. If you’re an animal lover like me, check out the Capital Area Humane Society. They are always looking for volunteers, and donations can help provide animals the food and care that they need. You can even adopt one too! Click the link below to donate, register to volunteer, or get more information on adoption.
There are hundreds of nonprofits that need help this season. If these three don’t pull at your heart strings, go to greatnonprofits.org to find a list of organizations that need assistance. You can always volunteer at your local soup kitchen or animal shelter, and you can donate clothing and housing items to Salvation Army, Goodwill, or Purple Heart Donations to name a few. Happy holidays everyone!
